Replace battery now? I have only had the computer for less than a year

I have only had my MacBook 12' for a year and I have an alarm that says to replace batter now. is this an issue with these computers? Does anyone know how much that can cost?

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

It will probably be covered under warranty. Don't wait though, if the battery swells up, it can cause the case to deform and may damage other internal components.
