I bought a Macbook Pro about a month ago and will be using it for some photo editing and some artwork (as well as email, youtube and the usual stuff).
As support for Aperture has now ceased and I will not subscribe to 'Photoshop Creative Cloud' I was wondering if there is a good alternative ??
Affinity Photo looks interesting and promising (and is only £40 / $60) but I donnt know how good or otherwise it is at organising folders and collections.
I think Lightroom (or what they call Photoshop-Lightroom) is still available as a 'buy it and own it' App at about £104 / $149. Is this essentially Lightroom or is it both Photoshop and Lightroom combined ? Confused.
Personally I dislike Apple Photo, the new photo management tool on Macs. I would prefer something that automatically looks for all photos stored on the computer rather than having to import them, and it's editing capabilities are weak.
As I will be doing a mixture of (pixel based rather than vector based) art / illustration and photo editing, I was wondering what the best option is ??
