My iPod classic keeps telling me that the battery is very low and that I should go to www.apple.com/support/ipod, but it won't let me charge it and doesn't show any reaction when connecting it to my laptop, it won't even connect to iTunes. Help? 🙈

- keeps showing "www.apple.com/support/ipod when trying to turn it on

- won't let me access music or anything

What indicates that the battery is involved? That error message comes up for several reasons, including a faulty hard drive or data corruption. The battery won't charge, unless the iPod passes that screen to get to its regular menu screen. And the iPod will not connect to your computer or to iTunes.

Try doing a Reset (restart), if you have not already

If it just goes back to the error screen, try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

Then, run iTunes and connect it to you computer running iTunes. If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery." If you are OK with erasing the iPod, do the Restore. If there is no hardware problem, the iPod should work normally after the Restore.

If the iPod does not go into Disk Mode, or if the Restore fails, the iPod probably has a hardware problem, such as a faulty hard drive.
