Q: Airplay works for itunes but not for anything else

I can airplay from Itunes on my Macbook Pro (mid 2012) to a wireless speaker, but I can't airplay anything else. Why does it work for itunes, but not for BBC radio player or Spotify? (I have mirroring selected, so the symbol is showing, but not 'lit up' blue as 'available') I'm on 1o.11.2.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

I see you're having issues with AirPlaying content from specific apps. Those apps may not allow AirPlay access:

If you can't stream iTunes Store or third-party content

To stream iTunes Store content, your Apple TV needs an Internet connection. Check your connection and try again.

Check the app's product page or website to see if the app supports AirPlay. Without support for AirPlay video playback, an app might not be able to stream video.
