problem exporting a multiclip

I'm using FCP X, 10.2.3 and I have a 5 camera multiclip. There's a problem with one clip, not sure why. If I close FCP I have to re-import the clip, but it doesn't really seem to import.

The clip plays and i edited the multiclip, but I can't export it. Selecting teh clip in the browser reveals that it is a proxy clip, so I assume that is why I can't export the edited multiclip.

So how do I fix this? I have several hours in the edit, (it's a play over an hour long), so I really want to fix this, and learn why/ho wit happened. I had this once before.

Is there a camera icon on the clip in the Browser?

I'm not sure how to explain a situation where you have the Proxy file but not the original. Regardless, if you have the original card, a copy of the card or an archive of it, you should be able to use the File > Import > Reimport From Camera command to reimport the media (try selecting the event and then using the command). If don't have that, then hopefully you have a copy of the stand-alone clip somewhere that you can import and cut into your project.

Yeah, I figured that out once I switched the file browser to filmstrip as opposed to list. I had already tried re-importing, but apparently not using the file -> re-import from camera.

So it did seem to actually import this time, but now that clip is showing as, "Missing File". I can right click and reveal in finder, and the clip is there. There is also a clip under Transcoded Media -> Proxy Media, and that clip is showing as Missing File. The actual clip under Original Media looks fine, so it's apparently still pointing to that Proxy file.
