After the iOS 9.3 update,I can't open any links in email, the email app becomes locked up.

since I updatated my, iPhone 6s Plus 64 gb to iOS 9.3 I can no longer open any links in an email messag. I checked to make sure that there wer no restrictions enabled in settings, which was what a suggestion made to someone with a similar problem, but that was on a very old thread. When I get an email now, and I want to view the website, the mail app just freezes. This happens when I am on wifi or cellular service. I have an iPad Air 2 64 gb that was upgraded the same time, and it's working flawlesslly. I'm not sure what to do this phone is only 3 months old. thank you so much in advance!
