My Apple ID is attached to an email address I no longer have access to and I can't locate the password, so I can't order, install, or update apps from Apple. What to do?

The Apple ID for my iMac (OS 10.9.5) is attached to an email address I no longer have access to. I can't find the password, and can't change it, because I don't have access to the email address. Any advice?

Those applications are paid Apple developed App Store apps. When they come pre-installed on a new computer they are attached to the Apple ID of the original owner. Those apps belong to the previous owner. To update the apps they need to be purchased so they are available as a previous purchase under your Apple ID.
