I am having trouble with some of the audio in the sound library. In the HUD they play fine - when I bring them into the timeline they are there as a green track but show no waveform and are completely silent. Only a select few audio clips do this - not all. Any thoughts???

Do the tracks have DRM? They will not work in an FCP project.
No. These are sound effects/clips that are located in the Final Cut Pro Sound Effects library (in the application).
I'll put two screenshots up - A shot of where a sound clip works fine and another where the clip does not work. What's odd is that they sample fine in the browser. They only do not work or play when they are placed into the TL. The difference I see (though don't understand) is that the "Location" and "Original Media Representations" differ between the sound files.
NNot sure what's happened but I can't reproduce the problem. I assume you dragged the SFX from the browser to the project. Try repeating the process in a new project.
Hi do you mean the clip "Turnstile"?
In the first shot, it is deactivated. Select it and hit the v key to activate it.
Not sure that is what you are after.

Good eye EcoGreg, only that's not the problem. I deactivated in that case intentionally as I was trying different passes.
So if that is indeed the clip (Turnstile) that is giving you problems
Pull up the volume, it is pretty low.
Try deleting the clip and re-adding
Finally you can apply the "Gain" effect and in the Audio Inspector Pane scroll down and crank up the Gain Amount

The Turnstile clip is just one of many that are not working. It may be half the Sound Effects library. They play fine in the browser, only when pulled into the TL they do not play at all. No wave forms either in the clips.
I did try pulling the clips into another project - still not playing or showing any waveforms. Continue to play fine in the browser though.
Have you tried to use Logic in a different user account?
You could delete your preferences (plist) for Logic. Just be aware you may need to reset custom settings.

Would love to not only have but be proficient on Logic. Unfortunately the only pro app for Sound I'm semi-experienced with is Sound Track Pro from yesteryears.
Tom, I did try pulling the clips into a different project and have still not had success.
I suspect you have a permissions problem. Where's the FCP Sound Library located? Where's the library 2016 ... library? What drive? How's it formatted? What are permissions for the drive?
I backed up the drive that I was working off of and reformatted it. Incredibly I haven't had the clips on my TL black-out since, and the audio clips from the Sound Effects library are playing in the TL again. Reckon it odd because the clips and FCP X app is not stored on/running off of that drive. The FCP library and clips stored within are on the drive (portable USB 3.0 Seagate), but that's pretty much it.
I've since encountered another very troubling matter with inconsistency in the finished project once "shared". These projects have really been wearing on me in that I haven't been able to complete a single one without dealing with substantial work-arounds and problem solving.

What's the original project format? What's the data rate of the export you're using?
Those are incredibly difficult titles to compress in GOP structure codecs. Fine lines, gradients, changing image. What might look great in FCP might not look very good when compressed. You might to use a higher data rate. What's you're intended delivery mechanism?

The project is 1080p HD, 23.98 fps. This weekend we are having a significant event for a couple hundred people in attendance. The projector we're using will display 720p. We're also intending to have the video available for smaller presentations (via projector, flat screens, tablets/mobiles, and web). So I thought 720p HD export would be good across the board. I prefer keeping it 1080 since many mobile devices and computer screens/Tv's are capable of 1080 or higher resolution, however there's a number of my co-workers who's systems chug at anything more than 720.
What's really got me is how the titles get completely altered...
