Hi Apple Community!
I was a bit surprised when I discovered that I was charged about an amount equal to 3$ for my trial period of Apple Music Subscription (transaction description says ITUNES.COM/BILL).
Is there any rule that ceratin ways of payments require to be charged anyway? I am using a usual ATM card that has an option to be used to pay on the internet.
I signed up for an Apple Music free 3 month trial, today 11/10/16. My account was charged the $9.99 monthly fee on this same day!
Well, except it wasn't a $1 charge, it was a $9.99 charge.
It is a temporary authorization hold. Whenever you update your billing information or purchase any thing from iTunes Store. iTunes will place a authorization hold for a value of 1$ to check weather the card has sufficient balance to make the purchase. These authorization holds will disappear once your purchase gets completed.

To whom it may concern. When I signed up for the Apple Music Membership it was supposed to be a free trial for three months. After I signed up I promptly cancelled it so I wouldn't forget and get changed. Now, I am looking at this receipt for 10.59 and my bank account is overdrawn. I have just signed up today. Does that mean they will charge me today then each month after that even though I have the 3 month trial

Me too! If it is meant to verify your card like they said then it NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED CLEARLY on the bill and before the free trial begins!
I have been charged $9.99 for the last 2 months and my free trial doesn't end until the end of July.

My son had been charged 11.99 for 2 of the 3 month free trial. No $1 hold pending. The charges have gone through.
