iphone update text message forwarding gone

Every time I update my iphone something gets screwed up. This time, after I updated yeterday, it forwarding my text messages to my imac. Worked perfectly before the iPhone update.

My messages on my imac isn't syncing with the phone, it only sends and receives via imessage. I don't know how to set it up to get the sms messages from my phone.

You use to go to settings, messages and there was something there about forwarding messages. There isn't anything now. And didn't you have to do something with a code?

Please tell me how I get my text messages from my iphone to go to my imac. they are both using and signed into the same apple id.

Is your iPhone signed in to iMessage using the same Apple ID as your Mac?

Yes. Using my me.com email address on both. I just don't have the option with the update of my phone to forward the messages that come into my phone via cellular/sms. And that's how 99% of my messages come in.

Is your iPhone's telephone number associated with your iMessage account on your Mac?

Add or remove your phone number to iMessage or FaceTime on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Yes... I am having the same issue with this latest update. Very frustrating to see all the stupid replies. If someone knows how to fix this issue, please advise without posting any additional replies which don't help. The update has removed text message forwarding from the iPhone. Is there a way to fiix this? Thanks!

Hello Susan

I've gotten it to work on my iPhone 6 Plus. If your me.com account is added to the email list on your phone, delete it and add it back in. I then got the forwarding option on my phone... whichthen located my macbook pro. After reconnecting it sent me the code to reconnect. All seems to be working now. For some reason the update on the phone gets rid of or doesn't recognize the me.com email until you delete and add again. Give that a try. It worked for me. Good luck!

It has nothing to do with the update.

This issue happens on any OS.

Usually ticking off imessage and rechecking it will do the trick.

For future reference, you get more bees with honey.

Try to be nice to those that devote their personal time (for free no less) to help you.

Hi Bryan,

I'm sorry you think I wasn't nice, I'm actually a super nice person! I re-read my messages and I don't think they were nasty or mean and honestly, I'm sorry if they came across that way. I certainly was frustrated, but I'm beyond grateful for the help I get here, and I've had a lot of it over the years.

It seems like I had 2 updates almost back to back on each device I have, so everything was messed up. I run my business (like many of us do) from my computer and I wasn't getting email or text messages, which is how all my clients communicate with me every morning. Then I added a new Macbook Pro to the mix and that wouldn't sync with anything.

I am sorry if my frustration showed but I'm am very appreciative for the help I get here.
