Lost old library on PC how do I transfer iPod classic lib back to PC?

llost my old library ...it only exist on my iPod classic. if I sync with my PC I'll loose all my music on my iPod which is over 3,000 songs. I transferred this music from my personal CDs ... Can I transfer iPod classic library to PC or sync iPod classic with PC and not loose old Libaray which is only on iPod classic? I would like to add more music, Movies etc without loosing what already on my iPod classic.

You can do the transfer, but not with iTunes. iTunes syncing is typically in one direction only, from iTunes library on the computer to the iPod. You need to back up your computer's iTunes library, along with the rest of your user data.


NOTE: For items purchased from the iTunes Store, you can re-download them to your current iTunes library from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.

However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some useful links. For songs, this CNET describes article a method that does not require additional software
