Q: Will there be a problem if I restart Directory Service when network users are logged in?

I am planning to write a script to restart Directory Service when it encountered certain type of error message in its logs (see Does Open Directory Archive/Restore or slapconfig backupdb/restoredb reconstructs the OD databases?).

I tried using the method as described in this post Re: Periodic errors authenticating caldav/carddav but it doesn't work most of the time. The only commands that work all the time is using serveradmin to stop and start the Directory Service.

Now my question is if I have some network users that have already logged in, will restarting the Directory Service at that moment creates any issues to these currently logged in users?

Mac mini, OS X Server, OS X 10.10.5 / OS X Server 4.1.5
