Q: 24bit/96kHz songs are not matched/uploaded after iTunes 12.3.3 update

Hello,

I usually add 24bit/96kHz to my iTunes library and use iTunes Match to upload.

Before iTunes 12.3.3 update, 24/96 songs are marked "Ineligible" but actually matched/uploaded by iTunes Match when I try "Update iCloud Music Library".

But after 12.3.3 update, 24/96 songs are not matched/uploaded.

AAC versions are matched/uploaded well by using "Create AAC version", but this method doesn't matches the original file.

Is it a bug of iTunes 12.3.3?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), iTunes 12.3.3

I'm experiencing the same thing. Very frustrating that Apple seems to have reverted back to not supporting sampling rates higher than 48 kHz again. It doesn't make sense to me since the songs are converted to AAC in iTunes before being uploaded to the cloud.

This problem still exists on iTunes 12.4.

I just noticed this today and thought it was related to 12.4  I didn't realize it's been this way for a month or two.  I'm really kind of ****** about this change.  Do you think it was done on purpose?

Has anyone found any workarounds?  I don't mind doing the AAC thing to get a Match -- but then I've got duplicate entries in iTunes. Yuck.

I see an option in the iTunes system menu now for "Provide iTunes Feedback" (no idea if it was there earlier). I suggest anyone having this issue submits a request to have 24/96 support reinstated. I know that for me, this will prevent me from renewing my subscription to Match again if it's not resolved. I'm not ok with having duplicate tracks appear in my main library just so that I can get the high-rez music I purchase from HDTracks and other sites onto my iPhone.

I've been thinking about this new limitation and if there might be some way around it.  Then I remembered that I have, in the past, purchased 24/192 files.  Of course, we know that those have never processed through iTunes Match.  But I used to be able to convert them to AAC, process through Match, delete the local copy, update iCloud library and boom! the duplicate entries would collapse and all was well.  That feature, is broken as well.  As we have discussed previously, if you convert to AAC, you're stuck with sloppy duplicates in your library.  At least you can uncheck them and still enjoy the high-res versions you paid good money for.  Still, it's silly and I wish Apple would explain why they had to add a restriction after all this time.
