Q: Limit daily sending mails to X

Hello All

I was wondering if there would be any configuration for limiting the outgoing mails from the OS X Server. After limit reaches, mails should be bounced back to sender.

Thanks in advance for Help.

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Postfix supports rate limiting, but more in the sense of how many messages can be sent concurrently per second for example. It does not contemplate daily limits since this doesn't make much sense technically speaking. If you have a bandwidth problem or need to send large volume newsletters, you want to limit concurrency not totals.

There are probably policy servers around which can do this (policyd and postfwd come to mind) and can be added to postfix. More are listed here: http://www.postfix.org/addon.html#policy
