Q: Tap and drag -- Remove drag lock altogether

Problem When I drag objects with the trackpad, the dragging stays activated around one second after I am done, which results in me accidentally dragging objects around when I only want to move the mouse pointer. This is not because I activated "Drag Lock"

Detailed Description

To move objects (windows, files,...) with a trackpad, one can "Enable dragging" (for some reason hidden in the Accessibility section of the system preferences).

This allows to do

(A) "Tap-Lift-Tap-(Hold-tap-while-move)-Lift"

on the trackpad, which simulates the mouse action "Click-(Hold-click-while-move)-Release".

Additionally, OS X Mavericks gives the choice between "without Drag Lock" and "with Drag Lock".

"Drag Lock" means that after the final "Lift" in (A) one can continue the dragging by simply moving the finger on the trackpad and only after a click on the trackpad this behavior ends.

"without Drag Lock" SHOULD mean that after the final "Lift" in (A) the behavior is as it was before (A). Alas, there is a delay of about one second in which the trackpad still behaves as if "Drag Lock" were activated. This means, that if the trackpad is touched again within a second of the final "Lift" in (A), the dragging is continued.

Question: Is there a way to reduce the delay from one second to zero seconds?

PS: I have previously asked this question for the OS version of my previous Macbook https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7204550. There, I got some recommendations what I could try, but nothing worked. If it is not possible to do what I want, it would be nice to at least know so for sure, so I can stop searching

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), null
