How to "Scan to a Mac" from an Epson WF-7620 printer?

I want to "Scan to a Mac" on the WiFi network from an Epson WF-7620 printer. That means I walk to the printer, put a document on the scanner glass or the ADF, press the scan button, choose a file location on my Mac, then all done! But how?

(Currently I'm using another method, "Scan from a Mac", by running the Epson Scan app on the Mac. It's not ideal.)

How do I set up a SMB / FTP folder on a Mac? I have the OS X Server app running, will it help and how?

Mac Mini Server-OTHER, OS X El Capitan (10.11), 16 GB Memory, Dual 1TB Storage

Epson Helpdesk replies that they are working on it. Scanning from the printer WF-7620 to any Mac on the WiFi network is not functioning yet.

Is there any Apple / Epson guru out there who can tell me how to work around and make it happen?

Also, what about other Epson printer / scanner users? Are you able to scan from your Epson printer to your Mac? Please share.
