FYI, if it was 'removed' from Find my iPhone, your partner basically just gave it away to the thief. Had it not been removed, Activation Lock would have rendered it useless.

Yes, you can. Just follow these steps:
- login with your apple id on appleid.apple.com.
- Select your country if asked for.
- Scroll down till you see "Devices" on the left side of your screen
- Press "View Details".
- Answer your security questions.
- Select the device.
- A box will pop-up with the following details :
- Model
- Version
- Serial Number
- IMEI
Note: You have to login with the apple id which the device is linked to.

Yes, but removing it from the iCloud account essentially unlocks it. So the thief now has a working phone with no restrictions on it.
