iPhone and most iPod devices are equipped with Liquid Contact Indicators (LCIs) that you can see from the outside.

Thanks! I used to live in a world filled with acronyms. Whenever we used one we had to at least define it the first time it was used in written correspondence. After the first definition it was acceptable to use it freely.
