Mar 30, 2016 3:17 PM in response to MS Cupertinoby Jongliste,Hi,
That's weird... What OS X version is your Mac running ?
With Quicktime player 10, hit File > New movie recording.
Hope this helps !

Mar 30, 2016 3:20 PM in response to Jonglisteby MS Cupertino,Thanks, but that option and several others are in gray font and indicate "PRO" so I think you have to buy the next version. I downloaded today from the Apple site and it's Quicktime Player 7.

Mar 30, 2016 3:24 PM in response to MS Cupertinoby Jongliste,Ok,
Even weirder. If you click the magnifying glass, top right corner of the screen, and search "quicktime", do you see two different QuickTime icons ?
QT Pro is a payable feature, indeed, but only useful with QuickTime 7. QT 10 comes free ^^
(also Apple menu, about this Mac, version OS X [...] will definitely help)

Mar 30, 2016 6:44 PM in response to Jonglisteby MS Cupertino,When I first looked for QuickTime, it appeared to be only in the Cloud. I searched the Apple site and downloaded QuickTime, but it is version 7 and not X.
The links with instructions on using QuickTime are helpful and I had already found them, but I really need to find the right page to download the correct version. It would have been helpful on their instruction page.
I think my problem will be solved once I install the current version. I clicked within QuickTime to update the version but the App Store can't find a version.

Mar 30, 2016 7:42 PM in response to BobTheFishermanby MS Cupertino,Finally got the current version! Now, though, I have two icons and would like to uninstall QT7. I know this is elementary for you, but how do I uninstall v7?
Thank you for your help, guys.
