Q: MBP shuts down with Bootcamp on Thunderbolt display
Since a few weeks, I can not use my Thunderbolt display any more for working in Windows 10 with Bootcamp. The display works fine with OS X, but when I switch to Bootcamp and want to run Windows 10, the Windows opening screen appears briefly, immediately followed by a complete shutdown of the MBP. I can run Windows 10 without the Thunderbolt display without problems, so my guess is that there must be an issue with the Thunderbolt software being incompatible with some Windows software, causing the MBP to completely shut down. The problem is permanent right now, but I was able to use the display for at least a year without any problems.
The MBP is a 15" mid 2012 Retina, El Capitan 10.11.4 (the problem also happened with previous OS X versions). Does anyone have an answer to the problem?
