Cleaning Sticky Keys on the Magic Keyboard From Late 2015

Did you pry from the top or the bottom?

So I actually just went ahead and gently pried it off with a finger nail and it just snaps off. (Make sure to turn the keyboard off first).

There's a small metal bracket attached to the key. It's shaped like this --> [

If you need to remove it (to clean it, or clean underneath it) just make a note of how it's attached prior to removing it from the key so you know how to put it back.

I used a disinfecting wipe and cleaned the back of the key and the exposed hole in the keyboard.

Then, making sure the metal bracket is attached properly to the back of the key, slide the ends of the bracket (the parts that are bent), into the small receiving teeth on the keyboard. Once in, you can press the top part of the key down and the whole thing should click back into place.

I see you are looking for ways to clean your Magic Keyboard. You can follow the suggestions in the following article for Apple's recommendations for cleaning your devices. Removing the keycaps should not be necessary to clean the keyboard.

That article doesn't address sticky keys. Only outside cleaning. I also have this issue. Hoping I can safely remove the key in question.
