Q: Anyone able to update their Siri remote firmware?

It says that the AppleTV(4th Generation) will try to update the firmware on the Siri remote once-a-day. It's been nearly 2 weeks and still no firmware update on the  Siri remote. Has anyone figured out a way to force a firmware update instead of just waiting and hoping it does it automatically?

Apple TV (4th generation), iOS 9.2, firmware update for Siri Remote.

    I just got through speaking to Apple technical support and I found out that since I am using a surround sound receiver, the firmware update won't be necessary for me. It's for Apple TV's that are directly connected to the television only.
