Q: My aTv (4th gen) need to be reconnected to home sharing every day.

Each day when I try to connect my apple tv to my iMac to stream content the aTv tells me that home sharing is not connected. Even though home sharing is connected (on both the tv and the iMac) I have to go to iTunes and disconnect home sharing and reconnect. Every day. My computer is connected to the to network via wifi and the aTv is connected via ethernet. I am certain that everything is fully updated and other solutions (restarts, resets, unplugs etc) have not worked. Anyone have this same problem and have solved it? I'd love to hear!

thanks

Thanks but I've done all these things and my problem is not solved. This is very frustrating as the main reason I have all this apple stuff is the ease with which it's all supposed to communicate. ugh

I have been having the same issue for the last month or so, however, mine is not as frequent. I have to sign in once every few days. Now I am completely out of luck, Apple TV will not connect to home sharing at all. I am 95% sure it is a problem with the Apple TV, all of my iOS devices still have access to Home Sharing. The Apple TV is the only device that I can not connect to home sharing.

I'm having this ever increasingly distaste for Apple, had issues for years since switching with iTunes not playing my old ripped cd's and now with all the changes in "services" that we've been paying for... Seriously considering my next upgrade ordering a PC w/o an OS and putting Ubuntu or Linux on it and saying goodbye to Apple for good. The fact that they changed the ApplyTV services we had been paying for in order to try and force an Apple Music subscription on us is ridiculous and now all the home sharing issues with this latest and not so greatest "upgrade." Just pathetic.
