Mar 31, 2016 6:18 AM in response to janeiowa824by Demo,Are you sure that the you are not being given the option to enter a passcode? If that is what is happening, you should be able to tap on Skip or Next to move onto the next screen. If that's not the case, is it asking you to set up a passcode? You can set one up and then delete it in Settings>Touch ID and Passcode after you activate the device.

If it is insisting for a passcode and you never set one, the only way to unlock it is to restore it.

Mar 31, 2016 6:59 AM in response to Demoby janeiowa824,Yes, I understand that, but I'd gotten through to a live tech who used session sharing to get me through the itunes screens since the screen showing the IPAD did not come up first. I'm waiting for the callback in an hour to finish this process.
THanks for your help and links, too.
