Q: Adding Anniversary reminders to iCloud Calander

Hi everyone

I am a newbie to Macbook Pro (2015 Retina) & OS X El Capitan (Latest version).

I have completed adding all my contacts and birthdays without issue.  However I have also added all my friends and family Anniversaries in  Contacts but I am unable to see them in iCloud Calendar.

I would really appreciate some help please.  I thought it would be as simple as adding birthdays but it appears not to.

Kind regards

Do you have the online Calendar preferences set to display the Birthday calendar?

First bring up the preference pane:

Then check the Birthday calendar checkbox:

Hi YES i have this already set.  I don't have any issues with birthdays just trying to show Anniversaries.

    Thanks

This feature has been missing for as long as I can remember. There use to be 3rd party tools that added the functionality. They've all fallen away. The only solution I know of is to add it manually as an annual repeating all day event. $ucks, but for some reason Apple doesn't think anniversaries are important. Image a few developers spouses might think otherwise.

If you want to try a great tool for extending Calendar and practically replacing it, while not breaking any iCloud sync, try Fantastical 2. It includes contact anniversaries (with alarms) in its interface and a bunch of other handy features. I use in on my iPhone and my MacBook Pro. Worth checking it out.
