Q: my son has forgotten his apple ID and password

My son has not used his iPad in a long long time, he has forgotten app passwords. I have restored the iPad but on set up it asks for his original apple id and password. he does not know these??

iMac, iOS 9.2.1

His Apple ID should be his email address. Did he forget his email address? If he needs help recovering the ID and password, try here.
