Mar 31, 2016 11:06 AM in response to cdash2by javaliga,I have to say that this sounds fishy to me. She may be allowing someone access to her Apple ID. I may be overcautious, but I'd be VERY suspicious:
Set up your devices to use two-factor authentication - Apple Support
A trusted device is an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 9 or later, or a Mac with OS X El Capitan 10.11 or later that you’ve signed in to using two-factor authentication. If your device doesn't automatically display verification codes when you sign in with your Apple ID on another device or browser, it’s not trusted yet.

Mar 31, 2016 11:26 AM in response to cdash2by cdash2,Going through a divorce. I know who it is and have asked her. Obviously she is not giving up any info. They both have iPhones so I don't know if that is allowing her to see his texts or him to see her texts, etc. Just want to know what the purpose or advantage of doing this is.

It sounds as if it's time to separate your Apple IDs. You're probably going to make yourself crazy trying to figure out what she's doing that doesn't involve you. Leave it to the lawyers.
Best of luck.

Mar 31, 2016 12:08 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby cdash2,Thanks. I have no clue how are accounts are even linked and why I get the emails. The emails even have her name on them and show her email address as linked to the account.

Mar 31, 2016 12:14 PM in response to cdash2by TMHahn,She might have your AppleID email address listed as a backup email. When I do various things to my account, I get emails to both my regular email and my backup email. If this is the case, try this:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
On HER iPhone, make sure YOUR email address is not listed.
