Q: Why would my HP PC have an Apple update notice appear for Apple Software Update 2.2?

My Hewlett Packard which runs Windows 10 has had Apple Software Update notices appear in the last few weeks.  Why would that happen on a non-Apple product and should I act on the update?

Have you installed iTunes? Apple Software Update is included as part of an iTunes for Windows installation.In general you should update to the latest build of each application to take advantage of any security patches.
