For general finger marks and day-to-day speckling from sneezing colleagues etc then a cloth suitable for cleaning spectacles is a good choice. I try to avoid using any cleaning liquids at all but a very fine spray of spectacle cleaner would be a reasonable choice if there are stubborn marks or just wipe lightly with plain old water on a well-wrung out clean microfibre cloth to wet the screen before drying it with the spectacle cleaning cloth.

Don't use alcohol, foam cleaner or paper towels or leathers such as car cleaning cloths - those are all too rough for the finish and special coatings on the MBP screen. Don't rub trhe screen hard with any cleaning cloth - be gentle.

Make sure the monitor is off before you clean it and don't press hard at all or you will likely damage the screen.
