Q: Default or Template Song or Workaround in GB (IPad)?

Is there a way to set up a template or default song in GB?  Alternatively, is there a way of opening a song that has the settings I want, and saving it under a new name without over-writing the original song in the process?  These seem like they should be basic functions...

When viewing the list of songs make a long press on the one you want to copy so the icons start jiggling, tap the duplicate icon that looks like two overlapping boxes with a + and then rename the new copy by tapping on its title.

Thanks for your reply.  I note that if I close GB with a song open, that song (which could have nothing recorded as such), along with any changes to the settings made (i.e. audio recorder selected, metronome and count-in off, song length to auto) will open the next time I launch GB -- so, sort of like a template, but with a lot of fuss. It would be nice to see a "save as" option available in record mode (vs. duplicating and renaming in song browser).

I have also just discovered that Music Memo records without any of the persistent metronoming of GB and it is easy to sent the track from MM to GB.

All of the above aside, the functionality and playability of the touch instruments -- especially the fretless strings -- is remarkable (and I understand may be further enhanced in the new 3D iphones).
