Why does my iPad go back to the home screen when on another app how can I fix it

Question

WWhen I go onto a Google or anything else ,why does it go back to the home screen,and how can I fix this .

I Am trying to do my food and hygiene but it keeps going back to home screen and I have to start all over again very frustrating

THanks hope someone can help me to fix this problem

Double tap the home button and swipe the apps the are closing upwards. Then hold the sleep/wake and home button until the Apple logo appears. Also, take a look at the following article. If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support
