Is it possible to get a higher updated i.o.s software and stuff on a lower software tech.?
what i mean by that is; is it possible to make a fourth generation i pod touch which is an i.o.s 6.0.1 into a 7.0.1 in some way because i just bought this fourth generation i pod touch off of a friend but the apps i want are out of the update requirements.
With your iPod touch 4th generation you can update to the highest iOS 6.1.6. But no further.
Connect your iPod touch to your computer iTunes and update from there.

Apr 1, 2016 12:43 AM in response to austin_freida1by lllaass,Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
