Q: hall the phone works.

Has anyone had the top half their screen look normal but the bottom is black? My son's phone is doing this and he can't open the phone. Can't answer when it rings. HELP!!!

Hi,

This article provides some instructions on what to do in your case https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203039

If this doesn't work I would recommend doing a hard reset of the phone as this may help to solve the problem.
This page provides instructions on how to do that Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support .

Unfortunately I can't hook up to iTunes to try the backup. My sons got the phone and is in the army miles away from home. Hopefully the articles will help when he borrows a friends phone to call tomorrow. Thank!!
