Can I export at 30fps instead of 60fps?

Hi,

Is there a way to export a iMovie at 30fps instead of 60fps? All of my clips were imported at 60fps (how they were shot), but I'm having trouble with playback on some devices and systems, so I want to bring it back to 30fps. I can't seem to find a way to adjust this, as 1080p/60, 720p/60, 540p/60 are my only options when I try and export/share to a file.

Help!

Chris

iMovie 10, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

iMovie will set the project frame rate based on the first clip you add to the timeline. Add a known 30fps clip as the first clip in the timeline and then add your 60fps clips. The frame rate for the project should be 30fps. Then go back to the first clip and play a portion of it. You can then delete that clip and the frame rate should remain at 30fps. You can share at 30fps.

Thanks Jim. Appreciate the answer.

If anyone from Apple is listening: this is incredibly annoying. Please fix it - at least make it possible to export at a lower frame rate. As it currently stands, I have to either have on hand a 30 fps clip, or use another software to generate or convert to a 30 fps clip.

It really doesn't help that app preview videos have to be at 30 fps while standard recording from iPhone using Quicktime is at 60 fps... it would be nice if we could develop for iOS using just the suite of in-house iOS tools instead of being forced to look elsewhere...
