lost my phone today.. i got the download the app (find my iphone) but i not sure did i turn on "find my iphone" any way for me to confirm i did on it. so i wont be wasting my time at https://www.icloud.com/#find
The only way to confirm that you turned on Find My iPhone (which does not require any addition app), is to log into iCloud.com and check. Doing so would probably have been faster than posting here and waiting for a response. 😉
Its not that big a waste of time. Your device will show up or it won't.

yea i turn on log into my icloud. my lost phone can be selected. so i can say so i got turn on "find my iphone" ?
the web stated Turn on Lost Mode. Using Lost Mode, you can remotely lock your device with a four-digit passcode, display a custom message with your phone number on your missing device's Lock screen, and keep track of your device's location. i did turn on i only can display phone number that all, i cant lock device with 4 digit passcode ,can i say it was due to cos my lost phone was switch off?

yea. remotely lock your device with a four-digit passcode. is the current passcode of my lost phone? or can i set a new set of passcode. i cant set a new set of new pass code
