Q: Why are two boot attempts needed to boot up the Windows 10 in Boot Camp?

The first boot attempt seems to stall after the first Windows appears and the monitor does its normal black screen.   A manual power off is then required.  The second attempt to boot Windows 10 Home functions correctly.  This on a Late 2006 MacBook with OS X 10.7.5 installed.  This MacBook as Host also has Oracle VirtualBox VM for Mac installed with Windows 7 Home, Windows 7 Pro and Linux Mint 17.2 installed as Guests.  All of these operating systems run reasonably well.  Only the two boot issue with Boot Camp is unusual.

Your 2006 MB does not officially support W10. If you use Startup Disk and select Bootcamp, does it require a second reboot? Do you use any third-party NTFS software?

    1. Selected Startup Disk:  Boot Camp  and 2. used Option Key to get Startup selection icons, both methods have the same result for the two boot Windows 10 startup.  3. There is no third-party NTFS software.  The two boot startup is a minor inconvenience. A Restart in Win10 Works normally without the two boot issue.

The Late 2006 MB runs Windows 10 Home, even the Insider Windows Update worked cleanly on the first try.  I think this "not officially supported W10" is wonderful on the Apple, a ten year old computer.!  In nine months time using an assortment of PCs, Insider Windows Update failed and usually wiped out the operating system software.  In this specific situation, Windows10 Home runs on an Apple computer.  From this experience, anyone who wants to actually use Windows 10 should buy an Apple on which to run it.

Can you run msinfo32 and look at the BIOS mode setting in Windows?

If W10 works for you, official support is irrelevant. . Apple does not have certified drivers, but generic drivers or older BC drivers usually work in compatibility mode.

Can you post the output of the following two commands so I can compare the Fdisk output with them?

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

    sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s4 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C

These show the GPT partition table and the first block of your Bootcamp partition.

Additional information:  This MacBook has been running Windows 10 Insider Preview Fast Track 14371 and several previous versions for over a month.  Some drivers just didn't get installed correctly until today.  In trying to find a solution, I found the link to "If you don't see some Mac features when using Windows on your Mac" that proved to be "Golden" information.  The link is https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204923.  I followed the procedure for "Windows 8.1 or later."

The "Install the downloaded Windows support software" procedure had a deviation in steps 4. and 5.  A message came out that said the Boot Camp Setup was for Windows 7.  However, a followup window gave the option to run the Boot Csmp in "Compatability Mode."  I selected that option and all the Boot Camp software installed to give an apparent complete set of needed drivers that were missing from the initial Windows 10 32-bit install.  It appears that the "double boot" for Windows 10 is no longer needed either.

Apple support is truly amazing.  Thank you!  Now I can continue to play with Boot Camp Windows 10.  My experience is that Win 10 runs better on the Apple than it does on my comparison PC.  Double thanks.  However, our production computer is still the iMac with OS X 10.11.

Will clone the SSD for the backup.  The Windows 10 Insider Fast track Preview continues to startup with a single boot attempt.  All the required Windows 10 drivers were still there after the update to 14372.  Apple, Boot Camp and this 10 year old MacBook are truly amazing and it likes its SSD!  Thanks again.
