Q: Why are two boot attempts needed to boot up the Windows 10 in Boot Camp?

The first boot attempt seems to stall after the first Windows appears and the monitor does its normal black screen.   A manual power off is then required.  The second attempt to boot Windows 10 Home functions correctly.  This on a Late 2006 MacBook with OS X 10.7.5 installed.  This MacBook as Host also has Oracle VirtualBox VM for Mac installed with Windows 7 Home, Windows 7 Pro and Linux Mint 17.2 installed as Guests.  All of these operating systems run reasonably well.  Only the two boot issue with Boot Camp is unusual.

Windows Fast Track Preview update to 14379 brought back the two boot situation again.  The Apple software is still operational.  Tried a Repair of Boot Camp Manager which wroked  but did not change the two boot situation.  for now, it's just an inconvenience.  Will wait for the next Win 10 update before continuing to troubleshoot this issue.  Boot Camp restart to Mac from Win 10 works fine.  Mac restart to Win 10 from Mac works fine.  It's coming back from a normal Win 10 Shutdown where the issue shows up.  That's all for now.

Either you have a partially installed piece of software which requires a reboot, or you have a missing driver. Can you check Device Manager for any icons with yellow triangle and exclamation mark?

Do you have any external storage which changes the behavior?

According to Win 10 (14379), all drivers were installed.  However, Narrator had no sound.  Uninstlled Boot Camp Manager then re-installed Boot Camp Manager.  Narrator sound was back.  It appears that 14379 altered some Apple Boot Camp software used when booting from a normal shutdown.  Under Win 10, using Boot Camp Manager to restart in Mac works correctly.  Shutting down in Mac and then doing a power on works correctly.  Under Mac,selecting Boot Camp and restarting brings up Win 10 correctly.  For now, will wait for the next Win 10 update to see if Windows 10 Fast Track Preview provides a fix for this Win 10(14379) problem.
