Q: iTunes extras availability
I Just bought Star Wars: The Force Awakens on April 1st, today. I bought the HD version with ITunes extras, which happens to be the only version available today. The SD version becomes available on April 5th. I am using the larger IPad Pro. When I load the movie, ITunes extras does not show up on the bottom of the screen like it normally would. This is despite the fact that I am hooked up to a strong wifi signal at home. I am able to access other ITunes movies with their extras without a problem.
The truth is that I have noticed a delay between the release of the movie and it's iTunes extras with iTunes before. This has happened with other movies that were released early on iTunes before the Blursy release. I want to know if this is official policy to delay the iTunes extras until the blu Ray release. If so, why isn't it mentioned on ITunes? From the iTunes Store, it appears that I get access to Itunes extras the same as I would the movie, other than the fact that I have to be able to access wifi. Why doesn't the store mention this point? It seems to be dishonest advertising. If I am buying the movie early at ITunes, it just may be that I am doing so to see the extras as soon as possible. After all, if I am an early purchaser, I am probably a fan who has already seen the movie. Perhaps, I bought the movie to see the deleted scenes and documentary aspects of the extras. Making me wait until the Bluray is released strips away my reason for getting the movie early, specially considering the Blursy edition has a better quality picture.
I Have asked ITunes support, and they don't know about this. Have any of you noticed this delay between the release of the movie and it's extras on iTunes?
