I can't promise anything but going by the threads on the forum reporting issues for 9.3.1 vs the threads reporting issues for 9.3, there are significantly less issues for 3.1 than 3.

You can always back stuff up before you do it (honestly it's good practice to always back your device up before installing new software)

Even with a broken computer you can back stuff up via iCloud, or simply e-mail important files to yourself or use something like dropbox to upload them to.

If you have a lot of important things you don't want to lose I hope you backup regularly. Your only safe guard against lost data, by any cause, is a backup.  Ordinarily an iOS update won't cause problems, but it might, and there is no way anyone here can say it will or won't - we cannot possibly know if it will in your specific case.  Or you could drop and break the phone, or get it wet, or any one of a thousand ways a device might get damaged or altered and data lost.

Seriously, without a backup, sooner or later you WILL lose data, it happens all the time for countless reasons.  So if it truly matters to you, figure out a way to make a backup.  You can always backup to iCloud.

Apple, like any and every software company on the planet, assumes absolutely zero responsibility for your data on your devices.

I don't have anything new to add. I just wanted to second what Skydiver said about backing up, it is so important. I have seen many cases of users losing important photos and data because their devices were not backed up. Google Drive is another good option.

I no longer can use the edit photos in photos. If I take a photo and then tap edit, the photo turns black and stays black. The only positive is you can revert back to the original.  I have also noticed that the live function of the photo is now gone. Not very happy

However I can use a photo with no problem and edit, crop, etc.

    Hope this will be fixed.
