Unable to find videos that I found yesterday

Hi guys

Having a bit of trouble here with the Photos app on my iMac.

Yesterday I randomly found a load of videos that were taken on my old iPhone 4S 3-4 years ago on the Photos app on my iMac. I went to find them again and I have spent the last hour looking in all of the subfolders in the app, as well as inside the package contents for both the photo library and the iphoto library. I have tried using smart folders and it is as if these videos do not exist anymore.

Any help would be appreciated, as I don't have the phone anymore and I thought I had lost these videos along with it until yesterday.

Sorry, but I'm not clear on what is occurring...

1. You said the videos are displayed in Photos. Will they play when you double-click on them?

2. You should never access the Photos Library directly, via Finder. Photos is, essentially, a database program. You should only access files via the Photos interface, otherwise you're likely to mess everything up.

3. Whatever it is that you want to do to those files, do it from within the Photos interface. To make it easier, select Show Sidebar in the View menu.

1. The videos were in Photos yesterday, and yes I was able to play them. Today, I can't find them. If they are in the Photos app still, they are very well hidden as I spent over an hour searching.

2. The reason I went through Finder was simply to see if the files exist, and I can't find them there either.

3. I have gone through every folder and subfolder in Photos to try and find them. If I view all videos it only shows more recent videos, none from my old phone. As I said I assumed I had lost these videos when I lost the phone but I found them yesterday by accident and I am unable to find them again!

what version of the OS and of PHotos do you have?

The basic answer is that all videos are in shown the system album videos

OS is 10.10.5, Photos is 1.0.1

It would be good to get up to date as you are four versions behind and many bugs have been fixed and new features added - the current software is OX S 10.11.4 with PHoto 1.5

Did you find your videos in the videos album as I suggested (I think that was there four versions ago although I am not positive it was)

Yeah I checked there.

I am updating everything I can now but I can't go to El Capitan yet because I do a lot of music production and Pro Tools doesn't work properly on it, so if I have to update the OS I'll have to leave it.

I'll post back here if this does/doesn't work.
