The Post was in the iChat Area (which is inside Applications on the Front page of Discussions)
Do you have a Backup of the iPad either on your Mac in iTunes or in iCloud ?
I have never done a Restore from a iOS device back up and I don't know if you can grab just a port such as a single app or whether you have to restore the whole device.
This may be of some help iCloud: Restore or set up your iOS device from iCloud

If you haven't already backed up the device since deleting the app, and there are projects that you want to restore then I would attempt to restore the device from its backup now. That should restore the device and any associated app data. It would help to know what version of iOS and iTunes you are running. I know there are some that are reluctant to upgrade to the latest builds. iOS 9 changed the way restores work slightly reducing the risk of data loss. If your local library doesn't contain a copy of an app that should be restored the private data for that app is restored anyway and the app downloaded from iTunes in the Cloud. Previously such data could be discarded in the restore.
Could the iMovie app have been accepted on a different ID? That might be why you don't see it in your own purchase history.
