I can not send an email but have been able to in the past. All of a sudden it says that I do not have an outgoing server. I have tried to use mail connection doctor but it is not helping. Any suggestions?

I can not send an email out but I am receiving email. I am using the Mail app that came on my Mac. It was working previously but since I downloaded the last update it is now working. It says that I do not have an outgoing server but does not list any servers. I used the mail connection doctor but it did not help me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), iOS 7.0.3

I of course have the same problem. I have looked at and tried this fix with no success. This fix applies only to those who use iCloud for mail I do not as to many others and we all have the same issue of not being able to send mail. No solutions seem to work. Are there any fixes you know of for those of us who do not use iCloud Server for mail......... I am at wit's end

Provider is Comast. It is not an issue with them. If i got comcast.net and access my accounts I can send AND receive emails with no issue. the issue is with mail programs. In addition to Apple mail i've tried Thunderbird. Nothing works on iPhone, Desktop iMac or iPad. Cannot send. I have followed just about every piece of advice on the boards here and nothing works for me and it seems for anyone else either. One piece of advice was to delete the accounts and redo them. I did this and I noticed the accounts went from POP to IMAP mail. I did the mail doctor and checked the settings against comcast's and they were exactly the same. This of course all takes place since "UPGRADING" to EL C. Cannot send (but can and do receive) any email. Any NEW suggestions are welcomed.
