Q: Garage Band changes the way I record

I tap on the drums, for example, then press the Record button and record something random. Then, when I play the recording, it's something completely different of what I recorded. Like an automatic "fix". I had that issue on an iPad. Don't know about the iPhone. How do I fix that??

    Hi AppleGuru3344,

I understand when you record your drums, GarageBand for iOS on your iPad is automatically changing the recording.   Can you provide a little more information about your issue?  What drum kit are you trying to record with?  It almost sounds like you are using the new Drummer feature:

    GarageBand for iOS

Drummer for iOS. Bring in a beatmaker.

Drummer makes its iOS debut with nine virtual session drummers, each representing a popular electronic or acoustic style. Each drummer provides a dazzling array of nuanced, incredibly realistic-sounding beats with a signature style. Drummers can even follow your lead by listening to a riff and coming up with the perfect complementary beat. And simple controls let you fine-tune a drummer’s performance until it sounds exactly the way you want.

I've included a link to the GarageBand for iOS Help Manual below and highlighted the section that I think you are asking about.  Click on the link for the complete user guide.

    Use Drummer

You can add a virtual drummer to your song that plays realistic drum grooves, and can take direction. You can choose drummers from different genres. Each drummer comes with their own acoustic or electronic drum kit. A GarageBand song can have up to two Drummer tracks.

You can change the drummer’s playing style by choosing different presets, and adjust drum patterns using the Drummer controls–including an XY pad for adjusting the Drummer’s performance, and controls for choosing different performance variations and fill settings. You can also have the Drummer follow the rhythm of another track.

Figure. Drummer with major interface areas called out.

If your song contains multiple Drummer regions, any changes you make using the Drummer controls affect the currently selected Drummer region.

    Take care,
