Q: safari, or any other browsers, won't load google

I am connected to the internet via a wifi connection. For a while, I thought the internet

was't working, but I soon discovered that it was just google. Every other webpage loads

apart from google with any country extension. It loads on every other mac and pc in the

house apart from mine. I have restarted my mac and the router but with no success.

MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

Safari/other browsers – Website not loading

    Try a restart.

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Please double-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

    www.google.com

    Launch the Network Utility application.

    Step 1

Select the Lookup tab and paste into the address field by pressing command-V. Then press return. Post the output that appears below – the text, please, not a screenshot.

    Step 2

Select the Ping tab and do the same. Please enter the same input as you did in Step 1. Don't use the output of Step 1 as input to Step 2.

    Important Note

Some web browsers and mail clients will automatically convert a domain name such as "www.example.com" to a clickable URL, such as http://www.example.com. That will interfere with the test. If necessary, edit the input in the Network Utility window to remove any added characters.

    Hey Eric,

    Thanks for your quick reply,

I have tried all these things before when looking through other forum posts and the only time it works is when in

recovery mode but not safe boot. Im not sure then if it is a plugin (pretty much only Java and Adobe) on my mac

or any other 3rd party software. I am slightly unkeento reinstall the OS so if there is any other way, I would be

    most grateful!

Is that literally what you got? It should be "www.google.com.au".

    Hi there Linc,

Im so sorry! I must have made a typo without realising.

Anyway, thank you for all your help, it has just started

working again, but I'm not sure for how long this will be.

Thanks for all your time and I know you make a lot of

effort to sort out a number of problems like this that other

people have had, so I am very grateful for the time you

    have spent helping out.

Thanks again, and hopefully the problem won't occur again!
