Here is the solution:

1. Quit Pages for Mac and EndNote itself.

2. Open Finder.

3. Navigate to one of these two following locations:

Macintosh HD: Library: Application Support: ResearchSoft: EndNote: Plugin

Macintosh HD: Library: Application Support: ResearchSoft: EndNote: Plugins

The Pages EndNote Plugin v2.0 is intended for Pages v5 or later. It won't work in Pages '09, any version.

If you are using Pages v5 on Mavericks (OS X 10.9) or later, then this plugin also requires that you have a compatible version of EndNote installed too. Even then, you must launch EndNote before Pages before this plug-in will activate on the Insert menu.

Do you still want to uninstall this plug-in?

Are you using El Capitan 10.11.4 and Pages v5.6.1 together?

The Endnote Plug-in v2 will work in the Pages v5.6.1 Insert menu under these three conditions:

  1. The Apple EndNote v2 plug-in for Pages v5 (Fall 2013) is still functional with EndNote (see 2) and Pages v5.6.1
  2. You have the EndNote application installed that is compatible with El Capitan including the current OS X 10.11.4
  3. You launch the EndNote application before you start Pages v5.6.1. Otherwise, the Insert menu : EndNote Citation menu item will remain unavailable.
