Q: Publishing a Podcast
I have created my first Podcast using Garageband. It sounds great. How do I publish it to iTunes?
I have created the RSS feed using my Sound Cloud account. When I upload it says it is not the right type of file. I needs to be AIFF, WAVE (WAV), FLAC, ALAC, OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR, and WMA files.
How do I get the Garageband file in this type of format? Or what am I doing wrong?
thank you in advance.

The only file formats acceptable for a podcast in the iTunes Store are .mp3, .m4a, .m4v, .mov or .mp4. The other formats you mention won't be accepted (and several of them are uncompressed which makes them impracticably large.
If your podcast is just audio then .mp3 is probably the best format. GarageBand can certainly save out your files in either that or .m4a format (this is the same as AAC) though if you are not sure of the exact procedure you should ask in the GarageBand forum. If you are using Soundcloud you must make sure that it's not setting the files to force a download. The test for this is to enter the URL of a media file in the Address Bar in Safari - it should play directly in the browser, not download. If you need to change the setting, eiznem has posted the process at https://discussions.apple.com/message/26564459#26564459

When you have a question it's advisable to post the URL of your feed (and, once you have it, your iTunes Store page) otherwise it's possible to give only the most general answers.
