Office 2011 for Mac update (2.3.6) will not install.

Everyone there is a Mac user AND an Office user, something you can't say about Apple's forums. You will get the fastest help there and I think you will find the contributors more than helpful.

just FYI - i run office 2011 and OSX.11.4 no issues with updates.

Has anyone been able to resolve this? I am trying to set a new iMac up for a client with Office 2011 and I have the same issue. All updates related to Office 2011 have been deleted by MS so you can't download manually, they offer no help at all with this issue. Very frustrating!

What version are you currently running?

The latest update 14.6.2 can be downloaded from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/3138328

with a pre-requisite that you must be running at least 14.1.0

Yep...nup...I am trying to install 2011 from scratch. It wont let it update to 14.1.0 - says the version wont allow it to be installed - and as I less than clearly said the halfwits at M$ have deleted the required updates - like 2.3.6

I managed to install 14.6.2 anyway but now it wont install Microsoft Error Reporting for Mac 2.2.9 - and of course M$ have deleted that update too!

Ok now I understand a little more, version 2.3.6 is for the Auto Updater application only, not MS Office applications.

It sounds like a deliberate attempt by MS to have you update to Office 2016

I've tried this and it does update past the 2.3.6 Update. However that annoying 2.3.6 will not go away.

This worked for me. It was the only update that finally got rid of that annoying 2.3.6 not going away! Best of luck.
