Q: Share button stopped working

In Photos for example, when I select a picture and then select the share button to send a message or an email, it stopped working.  In the case of Photos, when I attempt to close Photos, the Quit feature is greyed out.  I have to quick via the Photos icon.

Please follow the instructions in this support article. Instead of typing the shell command directed in the article, I suggest that you copy and paste it from the web page into the Terminal window. Make sure you select the whole line. One way to do that is by triple-clicking anywhere in the line.

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before proceeding. You may have to log out or restart to see a change.

Thank you Linc.  The Share button is not missing; it just stopped working.  When I sent to Extensions, there is a check mark next to Mail and Messages, but they are greyed out with a check mark.  Other items such as Notes, Add to Photos are Blue with a check mark.

Please follow the instructions anyway. If there's no change, post again.

Thanks again for your efforts.  I called Applecare Support and was bumped up a level.  The resolution, including your advice, was to reinstall my operating system.
