Recently updated to windows 10. Connect iPod and iTunes cannot identify it properly. Tried all the tips given online, still no joy. So I decided to revert back to windows 8.1 and it worked straight away.. Does anybody know why this is happening?

Recently updated to windows 10. Connect iPod and iTunes cannot identify it properly. Tried all the tips given online, still no joy. So I decided to revert back to windows 8.1 and it worked straight away.. Does anybody know why this is happening? Will this be rectified in the near future? Is it something I should be asking windows instead? As obviously if I want to use my iPod I cannot use windows 10 which is rather annoying...

Did you install the latest version of iTunes, downloaded here

after updating your system to Windows 10?

Did you install Windows 10 over your existing Windows system (as an upgrade), or was the Windows 10 system a brand new "clean" installation?

If the Windows 10 system was installed over and existing system (so iTunes was already installed), you may want to try uninstalling iTunes and related software components. The process is described in this document

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later - Apple Support

This document lists the components installed for iTunes, and the precise order they should be removed. After all parts of the iTunes installation are removed, download the latest iTunes installer and reinstall it as a fresh installation.
