Q: Itunes 12.3.3.17 will not recognize iPhone on Windows 10

This isn't a question.  It's a statement.  The latest release of iTunes is broken for Windows 10.  It will not fire up the Apple USB driver.  The computer will see the device on USB and you can see the picture folder, but iTunes will not recognize the phone.  I've tried removing and reinstalling iTunes and it still doesn't work.

I had this problem with two IOS updates (9.3.3 and 9.4.3) on my iphone 6. This was after I converted to Windows 10. I tried all of the suggestions and nothing worked. My solution was to run Itunes.exe as an administrator. It worked immediately.

A couple of indications I got that might help others with this problem. When the phone would not update, I sometimes got an error 51. Also, as part of the troubleshooting process, I ran the diagnostic routine in Itunes (under help).  Two printouts are offered at the end: one is to save to the clip board; the other is to select "save" then find the diagnostic file with .rtf extension. Both files contain the same information and can be opened with a text editor, i.e. notepad. I used MS Word. There is a line that indicates that Itunes is not being run by an administrator.

On my system, I left clicked the start button in the lower left of the screen and itunes was available there. I just right clicked on it and under "more" was the Run as administrator choice. I found later that you can also right click the Itunes shortcut on your desktop if you have it. It is also in "program files" under Itunes on the C: drive (in my case.)

    Hope this helps.
